The Sagip Kabataan (?Save the Children?) Foundation was incorporated in 1986. Through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Manila and the Sagip Kabataan Foundation, with the generous assistance of institutional and individual donors, the Sagip Kabataan (?Save the Children?) Center was inaugurated and blessed in 1989, and since then the Center has kept its doors open to an unfortunate segment of Manila?s society, the street children.

The Sagip Kabataan, a drop-in center for street children, has about 30 stay-in children ages 5 to 17 years old that were enrolled in different schools. Several outreach activities were conducted wherein the children participated such as cultural presentations, visits to children?s museum, films and TV viewing, sports activities, etc. Basic catechism like Bible study and recollection were conducted for their spiritual enhancement aside from daily rosary and going to mass. In the field of health, the children have undergone x-ray examinations and other regular medical treatments for common diseases.

The Center introduced a new project called ?Meryendahan sa Asilo Nang Mga Batang Lansangan?, a feeding program coupled with group dynamic sessions for streetchildren who are not stay-ins at the Center can avail of free food after attending cathechetical classes and other value lessons in the morning thus eventually taking them out of the street and eradicate bad vices.
